Painted Space Wolf Ruin Priest

This is my finished, painted Ruin Priest that i previously showed as a work in progress to show off the convertion work done to it. The only other work that got done to it before painting is the snow added to the rocks on the base with polymer clay. Again, i appologise for the (poor) quality of the pictures and comments are always welcome. This is the first model i seriously painted (most get three or four basic , straight from the bottle colors) so any tips are VERY welcome. :) Thanks for looking and i look forward to learning to paint like the pros!

First I would like to say that the sword looks good. Now for things that can be improved. The snow (I am guessing that is supposed to be snow on top of the rocks) looks like it is a solid object laying separately on top of the rock. It doesn't look natural. I would blend in the edges better to the rock and also paint it with more white highlights (looks grey with black dots). I would also look at highlighting all the bone objects and crest on front of armor to make them stand out better. Also several thin layers of paint are much better than 1 or 2 thicker coats of paint. Cheers, -Mike

I'd say thin down your paints. The yellows look a little thick. But this is really good work.

I saw the conversion work up and didn't really see the end result. The skull helmet is truly original, love it. The mini looks good all round. I'd like to offer some advice. Dont try and cover the whole mini, leave black where it works, in the shadows of the armour and use it to line armor together (like elbow pads and the like). Also add a few layers of highlight on the blue. Very promising work, keep it up, cheers
