Word Bearer Dark Apostle

A model I painted for a local painting contest. I actually won. It's converted using several of different components.

really nice except what you already said.. the skulls look a bit too brown, unless the freshly decayed look is what you were going for.. I'd have still put some heavier highlights on them, also the fire warrior helmet looks a little flat, if the trophies had gotten a little more attention the model would have benefitted a lot

Is it because the skulls are too brown or something? I had originally the model standing on a "box" (with spikes around), but it looked quite wird, and it's hard to do anything on such a small basse (even if this one is quite big).

Thats a good job. A few things that strike me are the skulls look kinda weird, I just can't really put my finger on it. Something that would look awsome, even though it is now to late to do it, is to make the base under him like a pillar and him standing in it behind his gate preaching. That actully gives me a good idea for a conversion I might do later :D
