Tyranid Warrior 1 of 3
I painted this one up after almost a year and a half of not painting. I must say i'm very pleased with the result, especially the carapace. For those interested, I assembled it, and sanded the base in advance, before undercoating it with Chaos Black. After it has dried I used a tankbrush to basecoat the skin with Snot Green and painted the carapace Bestial Brown, while the brown was half wet I went over about 3/4th of it with Vermin Brown, giving it a lighter layer, continuing with bleached bone. Then I used a brown ink wash dialated with floor wax (for reducing staining) and let it dry, when it did I (attempted) to highlight the skin with Scorpion Green and the carapace with pure Bleached Bone, dotted the eyes red along with a few spots on the Deathspitter. The tongue is done with Shadow Grey with a rather sharp highlight of Space Wolves Grey. As for the base I drybrushed it with Codex Grey, and applied a small amount of static grass, before colouring the edges Goblin Green. It took me approx 2 hours, including a coffee/cigarette break and waiting for the ink to dry.
