This is "Gunthar Larenscheld" necromancer from Warhammer Quest, and his oversized Spell Book. The model has been painted as shown on the models documents The base is of a basic green flock, one day I will get around to base all my old minis with sand coloured flock and static grass.

No Such Agency
He might look better based on a dungeon floor surface (flagstones) - a thin layer of putty sculpted with a toothpick would be all that was needed.
