You apply the paint bad, mostly. Try to put it thinner, and don't use the metallic colours by themselves alone: give them highlights with other metallics, or wash them.
But!
You have some good ideas, and it looks like you put a good deal of effort and care in this mini, plus you seem capable of doing really small details, and that's mandatory. Try to learn more painting techniques, and try using thinner paint. =)
Ok, I have to give you a 4 but... Your colors are good and the painting is sound and the fade on the barrel of your multimelta is spot on! -You may want to thin out your paint a bit ( the face is a bit chunky) Thin layers go on smoother but they take more work as you will have to apply several layers for the right look. -IT'S SHINY! although this can be a good thing on gems and or slimy bits for example. On the main body of this model though it's a bit much. -Lastly, you should finish your base as it will help with the scoring. Keep on painting!
