This is pretty cleanly done, but the flames are done backwards. Hotter = lighter color, and it's hotter on the inside of flames (see http://www.coolminiornot.com/22939 for an example). If you had them going from yellow/white to red, instead of the other way around, this would be an 8, possibly more depending on what the overall model looked like.
The sword is very neatly painted.. However, unlike the body of the balrog, the flames are a bit backward, are they not? Should not the coolest part of the flames be black (at the tips), then red, then yellow, then white as you near the heat source?
