Hi, Hope these help ...
1: Use smaller 'stuff' for the base, this will keep everything in scale and also look neater.
2: A black wash on the scale armour will help to pick out the individual plates better.
3: Although these models g=do have a dark look I think the flesh could do with being highlighted a little more to help define his features.
