Lizardman Tyrant

Mod from original...stone battle axe replaced with a machete from Reaper weapons pack. Except for the metal I'm pleased with how this came out. This was my first attempt at GW-style priming black and shading up. Pointers for a neophyte, anyone?

This mini looks a little under rated I would put him in the 6.5-6.8 range. Very nice base. Good flesh tones. And I love the painted skull on his belt. I might snag that style from you as I have a mini that it would look good on. Good work.

Thanks this does help ! Right now I've been experimenting with mixing metal paints with other colors to get some different colors, still working up nerve to start a NMM attempt. Now that I look at this almost a year later I wish I'd blended on the belly and teeth and spines.

Good job. The only pointers I have are regarding the metals, the rest looks fine. Keep in mind the light source when painting in nmm. the area of metal facing the light will be more reflective of the light, therefore brighter. A good place to start is by examining the photo here. If you notice the view of the backside you see the light washing out lthe lateral mid part of the blade. Paint accordingly by lightening this part a few shades being careful of your blending technique and you should be on your way. Hope this helps a little. :)
