Blood Dragon Vampire on Nightmare

I was dismayed to recently discover this guy had disappeared from my gallery, because he's one of my favorite pieces out of the work I've done to date. He was actually my WFB single mini entry at GD LA 2003, but only made first cut. Something about him didn't please the judges, which was disappointing. I hate the stock Blood Dragon models, so I enjoy trying to think of ways to convert better ones. In my opinion the High Elf Dragon Princes make excellent stand-ins if painted in a suitably eveel fashion :)

I absolutely LOVE the shading and colouring on the mount. I recently painted a unicorn as a gift for a friend (which I'd rate a 5 on the scale here, despite my being pleased with the work), but seeing this, I get down on my knees, and beg... Teach me! Please!
