Warlord Scarecrow

Yes this is from the great new line from Reaper. I truly cannot wait for the game to come out, This is a mini that took quite a bit to paint, and it was one of those where I was just going my, my detail galore.

This is a very creepy one!, I can hear it in my head laughing like a maniac, and the small skeleton in the bag is a quite ghoulish touch. Other than the aforementioned issue with the bones, it is a very good one.

Now that I've had a chance to look at the mini a second time I can see the wash you put on it. I guess that part of my problem with the bones is just how white a color you chose for the bones. Normally I use either a light or a dark ivory to give the bones a yellowish cast (normal human bone unless bleached has a yellowish cast to it) and then wash with one of several differnet colors of brown ranging from burnt umber to burnt sienna, rather heavily. This gives the bones the effect of having been buried in the ground and of having ground staining on them.

You know I need to yet learn how to capture all the details in a mini, since they do have a brown ink \wahs, what have you. The photo just doesn't do it.
