Black Knights

Black Knights are made from Voland's Venators. Idea is simple - empty armours riding skeleton (or zombie) horses. Lot of work with cutting bardings from empire barded horses and with drilling the Venators. But the final effect (in a fact it's not a complet unit yet - there will be 5 more knights) is very nice, isn't it ? ;)

Nice work, but you're wrong about the crosses. The Templar cross was not the crucifx type you have used, even though they were a Christian order of warrior-monks. Their crosses had four equal arms which were triangle-form. Actually, just like the 40k Black Templar symbol, but without the skull in the centre - guess i should have mentioned that first. Of course, the templars also had white surplices to indicate purity and their horses lacked barding. They were also wiped out by Philip la Belle of France way before Gothic plate was created. All that aside, lovely figures. I think the look you have gone for perfectly suits the subjects. And, although it ain't Templar, I like the shield designs. Well chosen and well executed.

Thank You for Your very nice comments ! And if we talk about crosses on the Black Knights' shields - well, I've not mentioned that the knights are prepareing for a Sylvanian army, where they are called "Black Templars". I think that cross is a right symbol for templars, isn't it :)
