well the mini is clean and that's a nice attempte on the banner (better than I could do :P).
If you wan't to get you'r minis above table top quality you need to start shading and Highlighting. What you have here is a perfect basecoat to do that. Now just take some very diluted paint darker than the base color and put it in the folds were the light wouldn't reach as well.
For the metallics try some ink washe (brown for the gold, and black for the steel) befor highlighting again with the base color.
