Tanshiro vs Osato

I love these Hasslefree minis! With these two I decided to go for a 'when martial arts collide' kind of theme. I imagine Tanshiro to be from a wealthy dojo, so went for bright, rich colours; some freehand work to add to this emphasis and an arrogant smile as befitting the young, rich and talented. Juxtaposed to Tanshiro, I tried to keep Osato as simple as possible, as I see him as a stereotypical Shaolin warrior monk. To try and dull down the colours on him I simply kept the highlights simple, but I'm not sure I was able to pull it off very well on the orange. (Perhaps more brown?) Both skin tones were a first for me as I've never done anything other than caucasian before. I'm quite happy with the result on Osato, but I think Tanshiro has turned out too dark. For the base I decided to try a Japanese garden look, using super sculpy to make the bridge. Oh, and I also made the wooden plaque too... Another first! ;) Comments, criticism and questions are more than welcome. Thanks.

My money is totally on Tanshiro. Great job. Giving a bit of a story adds so much character to the minis and it is an incredibly nice touch.
