ork vs. nid

this scene is a nid who surprises an ork by jumping from behind a rock on the ork. as the gaunt flys trough the air, the ork pulls his guns and aims to blast the ork out of the air. On this moment nobody knows who will win, will the ork shoot fast enough?, if not he will be ripped to pieces by the claws of the gaunt. The scene was made by glueing a rock to a 50mm base and positioning a gaunt on the rock(the nid is slight converted, the claws where cut of and repositioned so they are pointing inwards, ready to tear trough the ork). The ork was placed between the gaunts claws, I made him a new neck of green stuff, so hes looking more upwards. the orks guns were cut off and replaced pointing more inwards, aiming at the gaunt. The scene was undercoated white and the gaunts started out from a bestial brown basecoat, drybrushed snakebite leather, highlighted bubonic brown. the carapace was painted bestial brown DB snakebite, DB bubonic, highlight bleached bone, highlight skull white. Then I painted black stripes on the carapace. and I painted the other details on the nid. The orks skin got a DA basecoat, highlighted with goblin green, highlighted with rotting flesh. The red pants started from bestial brown, drybrushed snakebite, highlighted red gore, highlighted blood red. All the metal started from black drybrushed with boltgun, highlighted mithrill. the brown shirt started out from bestial brown, drybrushed snakebite, drybrushed bubonic brown. Then I painted the other details on the ork. The base has glued on sand and static grass. It was painted bastial brown DB snakebite DB bubonic DB bleached bone.

I'd want just a little more tone variation. It's great drama for pieces that look like they haven't been much converted. Oh, I really dig the stripes.
