Ultramarine Test Scheme

Well this is the mini that made it. I had 6 Space Marines that I tried different techniques on to get a dark blue that I liked. Its basecoated with Regal Blue and layered with Ultramarine blue. Im aiming for a quick way to paint my army, so the painting is supposed to be abit over tabletop quality

well i think you have done a great job. i love the gold rim around the mouth grill and its easy to tell the white onhis leg is writing. the whole mini looks quite realistic, how i think marine mini's shud look and if ur whole army is painted like this guy then it will look excellent. great job.

The gold rim on the mouth stays (I like it ;) ), I also plan on adding more elements of gold on my other marines. The white areas on his right shin is writing, didnt come up to well in the picture and it acctually does look alot better in real life (he has more writing on his left shoulderpad) I always hated the old scheme to the second company, yellow rims and red bolters!? What where they thinking? They really were 'Toy Soldiers' back then.

Looks very good as a table top mini. I don't like the gold rim on the mouth, though. The snow base is cool, but paint the rim again. And i don't know what the white areas on his right shin are - stains or are they supposed to be anything? Snow? Writing? Good color scheme (better than the old, as my Ultras are painted... with yellow and red contrast colors *urgs*)
