Paint scheme test for my army - I don't want to win any Golden Demons, but try to get a unified force on the table that doesn't boast the same old full-on metal colours that 90% of Necron armies seem to use! I used the excellent Lava base tutorial from this site (in fact, that is what actually gave me the idea in the first place!) and then kept the palette to reds and yellows. I added some directional highlights, but they're a bit off, seeing that this was my first attempt.

The colours contrast well together. I like the hot coals style of the lava base. better than some others I've seen!

The guns kinda just looks like a write off it seems as though you just painted it all red and then BAM spent so much time on the Rod. The rest of the figure just looks very plain in comparison.
