Magnus
This miniture is of one of the most incredibly painted miniatures I've ever seen, let alone owned in my personal collection. It was painted to match my Mercenary army color scheme, by Ali McVey, ultra-talented painter for Privateer Press. From my understanding in speaking with her, it was the first commisioned paint job she had ever taken on, but from the looks of the fig, it could have been her 1000th. I was absolutely floored when I opened the package from her and saw this outstanding work of art. McVey has sold multiple single figs over e-bay, each bringing in a healthy sum. For personal reasons, I no longer play Warmachine, and am beginning to sell off many of the prized jewels in my collection, this fig being the first. This figure is absolutely amazing, from the stunning detail on the elaborately-designed base, the incredible fleur-de-lis styling on the tail of the cloak, to the awesome free-hand painting of the Mercenary symbol on Magnus' shoulder pad. The picture of this miniature truly cannot do it justice, as in person, you can actually make out the detail of the wood on his shotgun, for example. The figure also has many realistic-looking battle wounds, shown with the incredible detail Alison placed on the miniature's bandages. Magnus the Traitor is the leader of his own Mercenary war band, fighting for personal glory and, of course, the ever-desirable piece of gold. When leading your Mercenary war band into battle, who better than to lead you than Magnus the Traitor? And what better Magnus could there be than this superb fig painted by Ali McVey, or as a lot of her friends and forum users know her as, "Fluffy." For those of you who know Ali's work, it literally speaks for itself and will help you to understand that these pictures truly do not do this fig justice. I am confident that you will not be disappointed with this fig, if you happen to be lucky enough to win this auction. Again, this miniature would look great on a flocked table, used in the game, or just as nice in your miniature showcase or on display on your desk at work. This is a great chance to pick up a wonderful collectible from a fantastic miniatures game. Feel free to place a bid at ebay.com. The item number is 5942106210 and the auction ends on Dec. 16th at 10:15 Pacific Standard Time. Good luck, happy bidding, and have a wonderful holiday!
