I have to agree about the Harlequin Romance cover angle, but I disagree with the choice of skin tone. Any elf that dresses like that and has a rose vine growing up his long sword has probably spent far too many years under the canopy of a sylvan forest. So it makes some sense for the mini under consideration.
Torath - no gay man I've ever met would be caught dead in this outfit. This guy's seen too many Harlequin Romance covers, I think. As for the paint job, the flesh could use some more definition, perhaps a darker wash to bring out the muscles. the blue is good, though it could stand one more highlight. I guess he coudl use more contrast all over.
I think adding some more darklining between colour areas would really help this paintjob pop a little more. Also the yellow of the hair is a little unnatural looking, but since he's a flamboyant elf, that might have been your intention.
