Orc Shaman 2.0
Note: This is a repost of a picture I had before. The figure is unaltered and the original post will be left up for now so you can compare the two. One thing I want to address is the trend to paint Orcs in muted colours. Personally I don't get it, they're ORCS, for Gork's sake! They attack each other in battle as much as the enemy. They use their little brothers for catapult ammunition. They ride on wild boars so flatulent they're more dangerous to stand behind than in front of. In short Orcs are meant to be dangerous, crazy, rough, tough, sometimes slimy and occasionally sane BUT NEVER BORING! And that's why I don't paint my boyz in catachan green or graveyard earth, that's just boring. No Offense intended. Now with that out of the way here's a piece of advice for those that want their boyz to look properly orky: GW Scorpion Green. Yes, THAT Scorpion Green, the one so garish it looks like it could glow in the dark. First I planned to paint this guy Dark Angels green over a black undercoat, then Goblin green over that. But since I'm still new at this painting thing I not only covered all the black with out leaving any recesses, but repeated that mistake by painting goblin almost all over the dark angels. This ruined all the shading so as a last resort I added a green inkwash, then drybrushed Scorpion green over the skin and I'm glad I did. I'm gonna drybrush all my Orc characters with scorpion green now.
