Brettonian Hero 2.0

NOTE: This is the same mini in photo #82145 but put in a different photo after upon request. Everybody's seen a WHFB model converted into WH40K. But if you really want to give yourself a hard time, take up this challenge: Convert a WH40K model for use in WHFB. My only rules were no Orks or Necron Warriors (Too Easy) or Chaos Deamons (pointless because they're identical to WHFB Chaos anyways). A big challenge indeed, and to make it easier (at least that was my intention) I chose to convert the Emperor's Champ into a Brettonian Hero. The first big problem was trying to saw off the backpack without the sawblade catching and scarring the left arm. In the end I sawed that arm off beneath the shoulder plate, sawed off the rest of the breastplate and glued the arm back on. The next problem was the top of the head above the laurels. First I tried to just sculpt a round top but I stink at using green stuff, then when I finally got more or less what I wanted I remembered all Brett knights have some kind of sculpture on top, so when the green stuff finally dried I filed it flat and glued the top of an Empire banner pole. Other problems: The left leg has a socket where you're supposed to glue a holstered pistol, filled with green stuff. He was really going to be armed with just a sword and shield, but the shield which was a converted TK shield, looked like garbage so I took it off. The result: A Brettonnian Paladin with the Virture of Empathy and armed with a great weapon.

Very nice conversion, but the paint job hurts it. :(

Well, not to kill your work but... the words on the sword, the amulet and the griffon on the helmet just scream "Imperium" to me... otherwise a nice idea and execution. Keep it up!
