Myrkfaelin Terminator with Lightning Claws
This is one of my Myrkfaelin Terminators. The name is Medieval Icelandic for "fear of the dark." It comes from an up-state NY group of medieval reenactors in the SCA. The motto is "the best prophylactic against the fear of the dark is a lighted candle" - sorry, I don't know the icelandic for it. Thus my terms have a candle theme: black darkness with the yellow of a candle flame. I will get some others up soon for a shot of the right shoulder. I bought these already painted so I only altered them. They were black with red weapons and no highlighting. Apparently it was an old dark angel scheme I think. I took all that was red but they eyes and made it yellow to fit my army. The claws were already blue/white which fits my yellow and blue theme well. I also painted some "bone" parts yellow. The wings and skulls (except the big left shoulder skull) I painted gold. I also added the gold piping on the legs. I then added a little highlighting. Since I was only painting over the black and not starting from scratch, I didn't go crazy on that. The base was for a desert scene diorama I planned on doing. Some day I will either do the diorama or redo the bases. All comments appreciated.
