Standard Bearer Mushnik Space Marine

I gave this guy two of the chain-saw bayonettes because I thought he'd need them to get that banner through low doorways. When I painted this I thought I was good at freehand painting. That was before I found this site. The heraldry on the banner is repeated on my marines' armor. There are 14 tiny pictures ("charges" in heraldry) on this mini. They were all painted with a nylon brush. The hardest was the international symbol for poison which is less than 2mm square. I now know about sable brushes and micron pens so I'll have to try another one of these some day. Lemon = left; Rose = right. Imagery is very helpful to the space marine whose average IQ is in the low double digits. The Comedy/Tragedy masks look okay in person though I know how I would improve them if I were to do it over. I would also move the lemon and rose to the insides of the guns instead of both on one gun. He could see them better that way. Please check out my other Mushnik Space Marines. As always, any and all comments are appreciated.

You ARE good at freehand, the rose and poison symbol are especially good. I imagine people are not looking closely enough to see the skill required for this type of freehand... The rest of the paint job is nothing special, but definiately above a 5.

Vince, this guy is worth far more than his current score... if for nothing more than the creativity that went into him. Since he is one of your older minis... I'm not even going to make comments on what works and what doesn't on a technical side... because you know so much more now... :) I like him, too Bro!
