photoshop does not improve a bad mini

I havenoproblem with that. You also see pictures with a nice background. As long as nothing was changed about the colors used. In this case ONLY the reflection was added.

well, not bad painting, but i am not sure if the photos of miniatures should be improved with software effects (like the reflection on the scythe).
