Mist Raven space marine

This is the colorscheme tester for my new DIY space marine Mist Raven chapter. Also, this is the first time I tried blacklining an gem effects (Eyes and gunscope lens). What do you think? All comments and tips are welcome! Oh yeah, i'm not a great photographer so lighting is all wrong and reflections are way out there, but it's a start, I'm still learning...

Thanks NickB! The way you described how you blackline is the way I also do it (the black you see here is the undercoat), though indeed I could be a little neater. Then again, with practise one gets better. Thanks for the tip about the gem effect! I'll try that on the next one I started working on.

hey this guy is great, if u do ur whole chapter this way it will look awsome. just a few tips tho, tryto be atiny bit neater with the blacklines (i undercoat black then just paint on leaving the lines) and the gems highlite shud be tothe opposite side to the white dot, not under it. great first attepts tho.
