MSB Toys' Genie

My first MSB Toys mini, the Genie was really fun to paint. As you can see, I was experimenting with my color palette quite a bit. It was a first for me to blend one color flesh tone into a different color flesh tone, and I learned a lot in doing it. Another first was his weapon, which I wanted to make look like onyx instead of metal. The other dagger-like weapon I decided to paint as an extension of his arm, as there was no hilt that I could perceive, and it wasn't really a hand holding it. The base is simple and flat and I painted it to resemble a Persian rug. Oh, I also had to sculpt his topknot from his head up. I used Green Stuff. It was a first in sculpting for me. Usually I only use it to fill cracks and stuff. I hope I did the mini justice.

Yeah what sniffles said. I got to add that the Rug is incredible. How did you do that?

Impressive work, as usual! The sculpted topknot is excellent. The weapon doesn't quite read as onyx, though - maybe brighter highlights? Still a terrific figure.
