Good choice of colors and attention to detail - it is obvious that you enjoy this. I suspect that you are not using miniatures-specific paints, because the paint grain is so thick (especially the metallics). A good, thick mini paint that you can thin a bit (vallejo is great) will help a lot. If you ARE using mini paint, make sure that it's not too old and chunky, then thin it and clean your brush often. You also want to strive for acuracy - I'm thinking of that stary mark on his holster.
