The horse is a 7, very nice, needs perhaps a little more definition in the mane and tail area. The Elf's clothes look ok, his face needs darklining (try a dark reddish brown), you want a REAL THIN line separating two different colors, and you'll have to paint some definition into his face, Mithril faces tend to be a little on the 'unsculpted' side, they do not 'paint themselves'....:)
Hi Wendy! I think your score is being hurt because of the small picture. From what I can tell the shading on the horse looks good, it's subtle but it's there. The skin on the elf seems to lack some shading/ highlighting, and the base could use some finishing (maybe a little grass, some rocks...). Always nice to see a Mithril mini!
