I don't go for the bloody stuff, so I assumed Snowmane was already dead before the fell beast descended on him. So no blood gushing from the horse.

This is what I think a children's book illustration would look like. If that's what you were going for, good job!
The figures, Eowyn in particular, would greatly benefit from some darklining, where two different color sections meet, like at the sleeves, the sowrd hilt, shield rim, etc.
Congratulations on choosing Mithril, they are THE definitive Middle-Earth figures!
