Excellent lighting effect for a first try! Much more better that my own tries ;) . I think you should now try to: enlight more your flame (go to the white), make a light effect a bit clearer on the enlighted face and more shadows on the other side. I'm no expert, so my comment worths what it worthes but I think that is what your painting misses here.
