This is a companion piece for my Dallas Cowboy Space Marine. I did her for the Chick Challenge V. The pose was so natural for a cheerleader, and she suited the marines well. The uniform is actually very close to that of the actual cheer leaders, though of course they show more skin. White is a hard color, but I think I did well with her. For the Pom-Pons, I cut off her guns, and rolled a ball of miliput that I wrapped around her fist. Then I took an x-acto blade and made long slashing cuts. I discovered if I pulled the blade up and away, it dragged bits of the miliput behind it so I did that all around to make the Pom-pon more fluffy. I think it worked well for a first attempt. I then painted it with lines of white ink and blue ink because the actual pom-pons are alternating blue and white streamers, but shaken up they get all intermixed. The pompoms are great, they really look fluffy! I think the hair looks nice, it'd just maybe look even better with a few sharper reflection highlights in spots. Uniform looks great, and the concept as a whole is very cool.

the pom poms are very cool. and the hair looks great to me. the dark eye liner looks kinda slutty - just the way i like it!! great work

Good grief, there's just no pleasing some people... This is a pretty striking miniature - the colour scheme is great - the stars are particularly good, the face is nicely painted although seeing as the shading around the nose and mouth is so subtle the shading around the eyes is very stark by contrast - maybe scorched brown would have been better than black. The hair is a little rough in places - picking out each strand individually keeps it cleaner and finally the pompons are fine - they do actually look fluffy, maybe bigger could have been better though...
