Lord of Pestilence (painted)

This miniature was resin-cast in a limited number. These castings are currently sold on my little Ebay miniature store: Ultra Forge. Please check my store for updated items. Thanks so much for your support. http://stores.ebay.ca/ULTRA-FORGE Hey there coolminipeople. This is my first painted mini that I am submitting to this website. There is always quite a bit of pressure while painting a green, so it was a long week for me. I am very glad I am finally finished, and that I can share it with you all. I sculpted this green a week ago, and posted the pictures of it earlier. If you would like to see pictures of the green, and for information on me sculpting this green, check out http://www.coolminiornot.com/88114 ,after voting on this one of course :) I used a variety of model paints, and also made use of a paint retarder and paint thinner. I did a little n.m.m. for the blade, and even the organs that are spilling out of the belly. The “wet” look of the guts surprised and pleased me, and I will be using this technique in the future. I have been very inspired by the chipped paint techniques on this site, so I wanted to attempt some of my own. The skull motif on the hand, mask, leg and blade were all done in layered paint washes, and then blocked in again. This was a long and tedious process to get right. After they were looking nice and distressed, I did some brown “rust” washes over them, and even used some of the base armor color to blend them in as well. I wanted to subdue the base a little, so I opted for a modest urban/woodland feel on a 40mm base. It was originally plain urban, but it was not organic enough to suit this rotting monster. Maybe I will end up putting some little mushrooms on it, in the future. Thanks for viewing my sculpture, and for your positive comments and feedback. Having been greatly humbled and inspired by so many artists on this site, and am pleased to be able to contribute alongside you all. Now that this mini is complete, I got some serious psychology exams to study for! Thanks again, and take care. Sophia.

This brings back memories of video games long forgot. He reminds me of a bunch of old video games, I'm taking him as a demon prince in my nurgle army!
