Another way to insulate those wires would be to use coloured paperclips. If you buy some of the plastic coated ones, you can peel the sheath off and thread it onto the LED. Looks good!

Wow, I'd thought about this, but I'm glad to see someone up and doing it! Bonus points for this feat! Are there more pictures of it posted anywhere?
