Great job on the painting. Some things that detract from it's image:
- the poorly done scroll on the shield and under the skull
- the gap between the feet and the base
- the misalignment of the 28mm base with the stand
- housing around green lenses above the head
- the lack of contrast on the skull and leaves surrounding(name slips my mind)
If you had used a bone base for building up the scrolls it would have provided enough shading depth to match that of the miniature in other locations, such as the kick-ass hammer and the face. It could be the camera though, I've had troubles with mine and it's lack of ability to pick up the amount of contrast available when seen in person.
Those things keep this figure from becoming a 9 and possibly higher.
This is still a superb piece none-the-less so good job. I hope I wasn't too harsh, but I'm sure whatever I've stated will help you with further projects that your pursue.
