Clean lines, definitely a great start. Don't swear off metallics right off the bat; give 'em a try. Highlight greens by slowly adding yellows, it makes them warmer and pop better. Oh, and highlight one level lighter more than you think is necessary... what seems to be too high of a highlight at 6" is going to seem perfect at 1.5'. I had to force myself to highlight excessively at first, an account that paint is lighter when wet... when it dries, the colour dulls slightly.
If this is your first mini, it's a great start. There's some nice texture, especially on teh skin. The green could have used more depth, but I'm having problems with that myself, so I shouldn't talk. :D
