LOTR Gimli

This mini won me fiirst prize at a painting contest during a Master Class tournmant in Poland, in the category for the best painted LOTR single miniature. It is my seccond attempt to photograph it properly, I think I'm making progress :). All comments are welcome!!

I think that the problem lies in the fact that the closest portion of the mini is blurry and the rest is kind of dark. A suggestion if using a digital cam is to take multiple pics using the timer feature and use the still setting. Also try to using and not using (use natural light, the sun) the flash as well. Hopefully it will help. Also when you have the cam next to the mini, try keeping it around 6 inches away and do not zoom in, since that can distort the pixelation.
