Edmund Dumond

I painted this fellow to be a bit of a dandy--all talk and no action. It was my first attempt at freehand on the tabard. The base is cobblestone made from greenstuff, although the angle of the photo doesn't show it well. Comments and critiques welcome!

You've made great decisions here. It's an excellent model with a genuinely "characterful" pose - such a refreshing change from all the boring ones with humungous swords waving in the air! Using a lighter colour for the hose has emphasied that thrust out arrogant leg see Lorenzo & Isabella by Millais: http://www.liverpoolmuseums.org.uk/online/pre-raphaelites/lorenzo/ But best of all you've painted a face to match the pose. You've really caught a snooty air. Bravo! (As his audience might call.)

Great work. The highlights are really well done, especially on the hat brim. The plume could use a little more highlighting though.

I love his pompous look. The green seems a bit flat in spots, still quite the 'dandy'! 7.5
