Unfortunately, photography is as important as painting. It looks like you were actually too close for your camera. The other option is to increase the shutter time to about 1/4 second to pinch the aperature down and increase your depth of field. That way something more than just the scroll and his elbow will be in focus. The blendings look pretty good on the face but I am not sure about the blackline around his blond hair? Try a medium brown there instead? Keep painting and posting.
