Ghorghor Bey

MORE PICTURES HERE: http://www.coolminiornot.com/98116 Here's some more pictures for the miniature I have received for the Miniature Exchange #4. In the other image (98116) I have described the colors and the procedure used for the skin so let me tell you some other information about this mini. The ruins comes from Manor House Workshop (http://www.manorhousew.com) that produce some of the best accessories for dioramas . I have painted them using grey, brown and beige drybrushes to pick up the details and then washing them with brown and green diluited colors to blend the zones where the drybrushes were too evident and to give them an aged look. The back of the columns are flat so I have decided to add some interest to them using a little trick. I have downloaded a couple of pictures from the Chronique de la Lune Noire (the comic book where this character comes from), resized and printed. Then I have protected the colors using a pass of GW matt varnish and glued them on the back of the columns. After some time I have ripped the images all around the borders and added some more glue to be sure that everything is fixed. And now the magic... I have mixed some oil colors, black and brown, and then spreaded them over the images using some paper. In this way the oil color will fill the holes and the scratches, darken all the image and make them like old paintings. After a couple of hours I have removed some of the oil colors using a piece of paper and then left them dry for a couple of days. Hope you like it, sure it was fun to paint!
