The 2-tailed mermaid doesn't look too bad, but you're being hurt by a couple of things, here. First, the pic's too small to make too much out, especially with all three of them in it. Second, the bases are just painted plain, with nothing to make them stand out. Some sand with some clear glue thinly put on top could make it look wet, like they were under water. Maybe a wee plant-like thing, or even stick one in a big clam-shell instead of on a base? But there's definitely potential there.
