Maidenhead Female Feral Elf Heavy Infantry Musician

I painted this one for the Fozzbozz Maidenhead painting contest. Didn't win, but had fun doing it and was glad to have an excuse to order a couple of these. Overall, the model turned out to be much nicer than I expected based on the online catalogue. I painted this one mostly with Reaper's master paints and got to experiment a bit with the new metallic coppery orange for the horn. I wanted natural-ish colors for her, but also colors that would contrast with her skin. The knee and shoulder pads I imagined as some kind of giant beetle carapice. I tried to get a shiney effect but am thinking I ought to have used purple and blue metallics instead of flat paints.

This is a really cool mini. I like the idea of beetle carapaces for her "armor". To keep the natural theme, painting her horn as it were a natural horn would have gone together nicely with the rest, but it still looks good. A bit more yellow/beige on her horns and hooves would look more natural.
