Death Hag and Dreadlord are finished. I have to say that i'm very pleased with the final result. They're not Very high standard, but imho, well above table top standard.

First the Hag.
I decided to go for a purple interior on the cape, and went with lines to paint the transition instead of layer of paint. I think it gave a very nice finish.

Dreadlord.
Had a bit more problem with that one. Going all metallic really annoyed me, since i think its very hard to paint anything fancy with it...

Facing a new challenge... painting the Cauldron of Blood... I wanted marble, but i doubt in my ability to paint it. Gray stone? Too boring....

My next option is a technique i used on my Ogre's gutplate ; some sort of old Bronze/copper. what you guys think?

I like the colours/painting of the gutplate Enkiel, it'd look nice on a dinoaur/lizardman or on the more crab claw end of things. Didn't immediately make me think metal but I don't think it looks at all out of place in situ. Shade the bottom half of each stud a little perhaps?

I like the way the flesh turned out on the Hag as well, good stuff :)

Cheers, B.

I paint my thumb.
With some extreme highlights the Gutplate will turn out really nice, it's a good color and shading.
The hag looks great, good choice of color inside the cloak :)

If you want to go 'fancy' with metallics, i'd suggest reading Automaton's excellent article on the subject; It's indeed very possible ;)

i did try that tutorial a few weeks/months ago... even have it in bookmark as "tutorial to use in a near futur", but never managed to get something as nice as him...

I think my metallic look nice enough. Maybe with a different lighting it would be easier to see

Well, Cauldron is done. I feel like i kind of rushed to finish it, but i'm still pleased with the result. For now i ain't adding the candle.

Here is a shot of the complete unit, i'll try to get better picture tomorrow.

I finally found some place around here where i can purchase Winsor and Newton's brushes... goodbye Pébéo, i wont be missing you much.

Here is a close up of my Cauldron of Blood's head. I think its easier to see the greenish color added to the mix.

I started working on my cold one. Aiming for a greenish scale stype, with yellowish belly , both starting with the same base color that i been using for all my green in the army so far...

Here is a test model i painted almost a month ago. To give me an idea of how i wanted my core to look like before starting on my heroes. There's a few thing to redo, like boots, handbow, blue cloth and skin, but that's roughly how it will look

Allright, not as good as i was hoping, but pretty please with the result. Still have to paint the "fins" a bone color, and the belly/skin.

the under belly needs to be lighter that will make the figure pop, gives it a contrast, at the moment is a little dull sorry:dont-know:

will teach me to finnish reading the thread before opening my mouth, you still have the belly to do so ignore me, most people do

It does still look dull, i'll need to work some more on that.... I'm not really enjoying painting them... it is a nice model and all, but painting lizard is not my thing. Thank god i never considered starting a lizardman army....

Test model, pretty much exactly what the rest will look like, but i still have to work on belly on him too....

the saddle looks too plain, it could do with some free hand or different colours, rest looks ok as you say could do with lighter belly

considered trying some writing, but after placing the rider , i realized that the only thing we see once he sits there is the back of the saddle, and its kind of a dark spot to put some freehand on...

What does mean scales in this context? What do you want to weight? (sorry, I am german and did not get the point :dazed:)

I like the mount with the finished base. Looks real nice. The ides of red bridle siuts the model very good.

Greetings, Taggi
