Things that annoy me about OTHER children's parent's

Just came back from our local shopping centre or Mall for you American's, and there was a place that sold girlie accseorie's (spelling) and also done ear piercing when i notice a little boy sitting on a tall stool with his mother beside him. Now he must have been same age as my lad say three. Next thing i hear an earsplitting scream from the store. The poor wee fella just had his ear pierced. Im not a prude, iv got a few tattoo's and im only 24 so fairly opened minded but thought this kid didnt really have a choice in the matter and im sure he did not understand the process of ear piercing. Why would a parent do this. Fashion? No thanks il let my kid decide what he want's to do in later life giving my advice where i think appropiate.

So what annoy's you parent's about other parent's?

Right on man... Probably one of my biggest concerns is writing across the back side of little girl's pants and hot shorts for little girls. WTF are these parents thinking?!

Maybe I seem like a prude for saying it. OK fine I am a prude, but really, what benefit does this serve? Boosting the little girl's self esteem by having an attention grabbing sign across her posterior? No. All this does is aclimate her to objectification.

And while I am on the subject............ 80's fashions...... Come on guys, the 80's are probably singled out the more often than any other decade for the HORRIBLE fashions, why repeat them? WE cringed to look back on our junior high pictures and so will you. STOP THE MADNESS!!! Skin tight pants are only flattering to fitness models, and when combined with low riding waist lines you just look like your crammed yourself into your little brother's dungarees! :D

I'm probably not going to be all that popular for saying this, but...

Parents keep on asking me how cute I think their kids are in photographs. Or they'll be bragging to me about how their kid is so smart or artistic.

My opinion? Most of your kids are mentally sub-par and a good portion of them have weight problems already. For crying out loud, it's not cute when your five year old girl tries to bite the cat. That's just stupid, and going to result in some horrible scratches.

It's not cute when your kid burps up some gunk. It's not even slightly interesting that your kid can recite his ABC's already. They're not special, not that smart, not very good looking, and that one is eating sand.

The worst part is that parents become offended if you don't agree that their kids are wonderful. I told a woman once that her nine year old son was very plain looking. She insisted he was the handsomest thing around. I pointed out he was picking his nose and jiggled more than Oprah when walking. Obviously, I was in the wrong on this one.

Parents, stop asking everyone to adore your kids. Stop asking my opinion of your kids unless you want the absolute truth. Sorry, I think I may have been ranting for a moment.

P.S. - Babies are not cute. They are fat and awkward looking. They only have the potential to one day be less awkward looking, though most will not succeed.

it really grips my shit when parents think that the hells spawn they call children are nothing but little angels and as pure as the driven snow, they arent they are like clay and need to be forcibly moulded into decent human beings. the look of utter horror on their faces if you dare to point this out is barmy

That is why my girls didn't get their ears pierced until they were in grade school and asked.

Sorry guys, to interfering a little...

But, when parents want their children to have ear piercings, the best age is until two months. Sorry, but it is NOT my opinion, but an statement of a doctor for children! I was schocked, as I heard this, but the reason is, that until two months the baby does not feel so much pain in the ears as later grown ups or children.

Additionaly there are special Earrings for babies, that can not be remove by accident and cannot hurt the baby. Having earrings so early get the baby used to them very early. But it is NOT my opinion...

But I dont think, that is the main point of this thread.

One day a was in a "Walt Disney" store. One child thrown herself on the flor and screamed, to get a special toy. Unfortunatelly I stood beside and the child kicked me. Once, twice... before the third time, I picked her up and asked her very clam: "Do want a reason for screaming? How is about kicking you twice with all might?" The girl stoped schoked and looked irritated to her mother. "Oh, your mother can have twice as much, if she wants and dares to stop me."
She stoped her show, and hided behind her mothers legs. Her mother looked at me very stressed and tired and formed the words "Thank you" soundless with her mouth.
THIS I hate. Zero good breeding and behavior, little princes and princesses without a trace of behavior. That is, what I hate.

Getting kids ears pierced that young is a surefire way to get your kid allergic to metal...

My little sister saw a girl under one year get hers pierced exactly the same, my sister (9) said she would never get hers done because of the experiance. The worst part was the mother made sure that the screaming child got both ears done and had to hold her down for the second one.

taga i love you, i wish i had the gut's to do that. But as anyone from belfast would tell you would get " yo d£$k head you slabberin bout me gurl, i know people" lol.

@ alextheartist:
baby earrings arent out of metal, but flexible "plasitc" (I dont know the special term for this in english). For Babies, it has to be flexible!

@ Master of fact:
Please "Taggi" as shortcut, because "taga" has a special (not nice meaning) to me.. :blowkiss:

Thank you very much... but... what does "yo d£$k head you slabberin bout me gurl" mean? sorry...

Greetings, Taggi

Honestly, I don't think there's anything prude with advocating freedom of choice.

I'm not sure a three year old is quite old enough to make an informed decision on this point.

Exactly my point. My comment was about Freakinacage and TreManor feeling prude about agreeing that it was a bad decision. As long as it isn't something medical (a.k.a. treatment for hare-lip or other deformations), cosmetic procedures of any kind should be avoided until the person is old enough to make the decision him/herself.
That child had the decision made for him, that is -not- freedom of choice.

Bah, I see so many parents that use their kids as fashion accessories nowadays. But waddaya do? I mean, I am gulity of doing stuff to my kids 'cause I think it's funny. I got my 2 year old son a shirt that said "No fat chicks" and earlier a sleeper that said "Party in my crib. BYOB." so maybe I am no better.
