:agent: hell yeah, thats definitely what this thread has been missing.

but seriously, half of me wants to say yes, and the other half wants to say "f*ck you, reppin' since '04, BITCH," all crazy gangsta style.
<awkward smelly silence>
cmon post rate is down (is it?); ebb and flow, forum changes...

...slightly drunk.

Now that's a hell of an idea! I think I'll go slip into a case of Molson myself. No work tomorrow, caught up on any painting I wanted to do. Now that's a plan I can get behind funnymouth!

Thanks Jim thats made being stuck in Singapore worth smiling, not that the eye candy out here is unpleasant to the eye ;o)

I think a lot of the quietness around here has come since the site upgrade, its nice but I hate the idea that when you post to a thread it nolonger appears at the top of the list so you have to go hunting for it, the old way you got a lot more traffic hitting the forums because you could see more of it, now despite posting to a couple they don't appear on the front page anymore.

Congrats NSA :)

Hate to say it, but it seems that the last few months have been relatively....boring here on the forums.

Don't get me wrong, there are certainly bright spots, but these forums don't seem to have the life they once had.

Part of the reason, I'm sure, is lots of folks have moved onto other forums, or other lives, but does anyone have comments, or suggestions on this?

Just curious.

Not lost, just sold...

kidding!

This is one of the low points the forums hit occasionally. You might also notice a lack of activity becuase it may just be more spread out. Once we actually do get a forum for everything, it seems barren and some people who used to participate in one topic area just because it poped up when they were looking for other stuff wont, because they don't see it. Once we've categorized and put each post in it's place, it doesn't mingle with the posts from other areas that no longer fit that category.

I don't think CMON really lost it's soul. The general discussion topics have been slowing down, I'll give you that. But everythign miniature related is okay.
As for me, I'm always reading, barely posting.

Yeah that is actually one thing I don't really like. I want to be in an instant see what threads are cool or not.

I just realized what I think I've been missing.....

Well don't know if it has anything to do with this thread, but...

I came here looking for some of the reactions after GD FR 2010, expecting to see a 10 page long topic, and found ...nothing.
What is this "GD FR 2010" of which you speak? Oh it's in France, never mind :disdain:

Er, it should - they do for me. You might need to have a look at your forum settings.

Re the OP, I've got to say that I agree with Vikey. I've not been round here much of late, and part of the reason for that is the dip in forum action. Putting on my rose-tinted specs, I remember a time when a thread could hit 50 posts in half-hour, but we all seem to have drifted off somehow. I don't see Frothers as being particularly active either (I dabble there very occasionally), so I'm embiggened to ask just where everyone went. There are some lovely new sorts round here, some real characters, but I feel the poor buggers have missed the boat a bit. They'd have had a whale of a time a few years back. I do miss the old forum lay-out as well, but a forums is forums when push comes to shove.

I just can't put my finger on it, but the place seems slow and a bit empty. What gives!

I never liked that era where everyone was BFFs and each post contained many in-jokes and much charming familiarity. Basically because, to me, it didn't seem to be connected to reality. Like a hippy gathering but without the ecstacy. 99% of Internet relationships are transitory at best, so I think it's better keep at least a little distance, like friends of friends. In the plus column I suppose that a strong percieved bond does create a more lively forum, but many of the posts tend to be spam that I personally could well do with ignoring.

I bet many of the people that seem to have dissappeared are just lurking. Searching google for Vorag today I got a thread at Wyrd, and saw that Eric J posts there regularly. I bet he still reads cmon, and I'm sure this is the case with a lot of the old faces.
