Personally, I love basing. It is our opportunity to make the mini our own. So I appreciate this fact and TRY to take my time.
Well, I can't add anything new. It's looking very promising skel. I just love that you stick to your true metallics instead of nmm. Nmm looks too cartoony imo, and your minis all have this dark atmosphere about them, so adding spongebob on their socks would sorta ruin it.
Great work.
Wow! Amazing as alwais. Really a nice paintwork. I'm particularly amazed by the shoulderpad and tabard texture. How do you do that? Is it complicated to achieve? I would love to try it :curl-lip:
You know.... I hate to say it, but the majority of his space marine is technically done in NMM. The purple armor issupposed to be metal. And he didn't use metallics on them, but instead relied upon normal acrylics. Only the gold is done in TMM.
Give the grey knights a go their supposed to be all grey metal I think. Got the sword arm done yet?thanks friends, glad you like! :good:
ive started to build a base but its probably not going to be anything serious. lets see if i can put a piece of a banner on there. not sure.
complicated, hmm... guess that depends who you're asking. on the shoulderpad i begun painting a pattern using diluted black ink with a little white, ink are great as its highly pigmented so you can dilute it a lot and even get solid lines, extending the drying time a litte. then i glaze highlight and shadows, putting the pattern beneath some layers which take care of the most gloss from the ink. then some carefully places some more highlights and fill in some lines to make the patterna appear a little bit "3D". easy? well. it take some time anyway!![]()
well in my world they are using plastic armor like the stormtroopers in star warsseriously i cant think of a single space marine miniature painted all in metal colors, but if this is true i have to tryout sometime!

yeah i normally do. main reason is that when the time comes to paint the base, you just want it done so you can proceed to next mini, ending up rushing it. for me its always better to have a ready built base to begin with.
mind if I ask what brand of ink you used on the purples? I got some Windsor and newton inks but they react terribly to being varnished or glazes being applied over them. I have a feeling im using non waterproof inks or something.
