I've attached the FAQ but there a few double negatives which muddies up the answer a little. Do attachments that have been killed due to Expert Duelist respawn in these scenarios?

How these two rules interact? Do you check to see if the Freedmen are within short range first, or do you respawn first? I imagine if you check to see if they are in range first and they die, you can respawn them right away?
