Well i just got a dremel for christmas and i was wondering how useful this will be for converting? Do you use it alot if you have one. Im just wondering.

Im working on an inquisitor and wanna make it look like his gun just fired. So there is something coming out the barrel, kinda of a mini explosion i guess. I dont know how to start, i figured i scuplt it with green stuff but i have never sculpted anything. Anyone have any ideas on how to do this.
