I have tried to prime my figures white but what I am finding is that when the primer is dry it has settled in the folds and crevices leaving the highpoints barely touched. If I continue to prime the details are eventually lost as the primer builds up in the low points. I have used Tamiya and...

I am having trouble holding figures with a sold metal base because of the a lack of area to grip when painting. I tried to drill through the base but this stuff seems like Iron. Any suggestions on how to hold the figure so I do not have to touch the figure when painting?

Is there a particular reason to either prime a figure in black or white? By this I don\'t mean to prime at all but when should each color be used and to what effect.
