Started painting at about the time that the 2nd ed. of 40K was out. Spent a few years slowly painting through the ones that came with the boxed set before life got a bit too busy. Recently started trying to get back into it, initially to finish the boxes of orks that I hadn't got to, and then the new tyranids after they came out.
