    thin layer help

I have been having a devil of a time trying to use thinned VMC paints. I used to use GW paints and can get really good blends with them, and do alright with VMC but when I really try to apply thin layers, I can sometimes see the layer under what I\'m painting break apart under my brush. I give...

    peeling paint

I just tried brushing on some vallejo varnish over some dries vallejo paint, that I let dry for like 5 minutes and the paint started to spread under the brush. Is this normal, the paint was applied very thin by the way. I would normally dust on some dullcote between areas but it\'s raining out...

    new brush woes

Does anyone else ever notice that with a new brush, a little paint \"knobby\" keeps on forming on the tip of the brush... ggrrrr it always bugs me. Does it eventually go away? James

    yet another thinning question

Hi everyone, I have yet another thinning question, but it\'s not just for me. I have customers, as I sell vallejo paint on the east coast of Canada. And this isn\'t trying to get free advertising in case anyone was wondering. I simply want to recommend to my customers the best products...

    jet dry question

I\'ve recently read that jet dry makes a great flow improver, and although I don\'t liek to use more than is required to paint, I do like to play with stuff. Has anyone else tried it, and if so does it react with any paint brands? Cheers!

    paint flow

Does anyone notice that some colors seem to flow better than other in the same paint range? Or am I just dreaming. If so, then what colors do people think are the worst. I find that although I love the color, komando kakhi seems to flow like pudding? I dunno, mabey I\'m crazy :D

    FIMO question

If I use FIMO to sculp say a cape on a plastic marine, will the plastic melt with the temps to harden the clay? I figure that a pewter miniature would probably be okay at the temperatures, but plastic I have no idea about. James

    dullcote, drying

I have a quick question for the experts out there. I was thinking of taking up the practice of dusting the figure between sections with testors dullcote, and I was wondering if you can speed up the drying time with a hair dryer?

    a thinning question

I have recently discovered that liquitex airbrush medium is awesome stuff for thinning VMC paints, but I do find that it adds a little sheen. Do any of the other ranges, like golden or creatix (spelling?)have a more matt varitey? Cheers!

    a future question.

Hi All, I have a quick question for everyone that uses future floor wax. What with Vallejo paints being as fragile as they are, can I use straight future for a varnish gloss coat without it lifting the VMC up underneith?

    Drying`

Is it me, or does GW paint dry a lot faster than a lot of other brands?

    tamiya mixing

Does anyone know if you can mix tamiya products with any other brands of paint. What I want to do is see if I can mix in a little of their flat base with vallejo matt varnish in order to totally flatten it down, as I find there is a little sheene to it. Does this sound too crazy? Or does...

    worst colors?

Hello, Can anyone tell me if there are any VMC colors that separate easier than others? I\'m just kind of wondering which ones I should probably look out for before I start using them. I thin at least 2:1 water:paint for most painting. James

    a dullcote question

I was reading in an older thread on here that to reduce the \"milky\" problems with testors dullcote that you should shake it and then let it sit for a minute before spraying. I\'ve only every read that the once and I was just wondering how many people let it sit before spraying it and how long...

    i did an experiment

Hello All, I started an experiment to find a good paint agitator material for vallejo paints, besides pewter bits, just for fun. I got some stainless steel Slingshot ammo, and some hematite beads. I put them each in plain tap water and then two more in salted water, which is known for...
