I've just taken this snap of a WIP. Photo on the left is cropped but unedited 1/3 size - photo on the right is the same with slight noise reduction, curves adjustment (contrast only) and vignetting applied. (I think I could argue that with care, all this could be recreated for real with lights...

Hi folks, could anyone suggest/explain to me why paint applied with an airbrush tends to dry with a significantly 'matter' finish than the exact same paint mix applied with a brush? Many thanks
